Losar Support Pledges

In this New Year of the Iron Ox 2021

we bring the hope and aspirations of all of our efforts in 2020 for a world without Covid-19 and other diseases, free of wars, famine and poverty.

While putting the pandemic behind us and moving on to new challenges is on everyone’s minds, the challenges we face now and in the near future to recover from the impacts on families and local economies, especially in poorer areas are quite severe. The way forward for many is uncertain.

The regions of Bylakuppe and Mongod in Karnataka contain the largest settlements of Tibetans in India, and are in remote and “restricted areas” of the state which make tourism unlikely, and economic opportunity very difficult to find. We do not yet know the impact of the pandemic on Rima and Ayang Gompa monastery. However, it is certain much help will be needed.
